Chemical Engineering Research Building

Charlottesville, VA

CLIENT:
University of Virginia

PROJECT GOAL
UVA’s chemical engineering research building is a 25,000 sq.ft. facility housing research laboratories and faculty and grad student offices. The University identified the Chemical Engineering building as an unusually high energy user. The objective of the study was to check HVAC equipment for energy wasting operational problems caused by equipment malfunction or improper design.

SOLUTION
Six energy saving measures were recommended, for a total annual energy cost savings of $8,600 per year, with a simple payback of 1.4 years.

TESTIMONIAL
“Working with Galen on a mechanical energy audit of one of the University of Virginia’s buildings was an absolute pleasure. He is a professional who delivers on time and with-in budget. I am glad we met and anticipate working with him in the future.”
