Authorized by the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh and partially-funded by the Pennsylvania Housing Financing Agency (PHFA) including low-income housing tax credits, the century-old former synagogue recently received a thoughtful rehabilitation led by Beacon Communities in partnership with Desmone Architects. The PHIUS+ pre-certified project is nearly 85% affordable housing and its stunning rotunda (1923) pictured above is intended to be used for community activities. PHIUS recently announced the pre-certification and we are thrilled to have worked on this wonderful project.
